About Peter Murphy III

A cinematic storyteller with Oregon roots, Los Angeles film training, Las Vegas production experience, and a growing slate of film and television projects.

Writer. Producer. Pacific Northwest storyteller.

Peter Murphy III is a Las Vegas based screenwriter and producer whose work is shaped by a rare combination of film industry experience, small-town roots, and firsthand understanding of the Pacific Northwest timber world.

Born and raised in Eugene, Oregon, Peter later moved to Los Angeles to study Film & Television Production and Screenwriting at Loyola Marymount University. His creative path includes collaboration with independent filmmakers and producers connected to projects such as Highlander, The Osterman Weekend, St. Helens, and O’Hara’s Wife.

Today, Peter develops cinematic stories built around ordinary people forced into extraordinary circumstances: families under pressure, conspiracies hidden in plain sight, buried histories, dangerous missions, and characters fighting to preserve what matters most.

Rooted in the timber world

Peter worked in his family’s logging business during his earlier years, giving him a direct understanding of the culture, customs, values, and conflicts of the timber industry in the Pacific Northwest.

That lived experience helped shape Forest For The Trees, a dramatic series about family legacy, corruption, environmental stewardship, and the tension between independent family businesses and corporate power.

Story worlds with scale

Across his slate, Peter’s writing moves between suspense drama, true-story espionage, military adventure, conspiracy thrillers, spiritual action-adventure, wilderness mystery, and hard-boiled Las Vegas crime.

The through-line is cinematic storytelling: high-stakes plots, strong character engines, marketable concepts, and worlds designed for film, television, streaming, and franchise potential.
